wife's Accord been in need of a battery and today we got one. She couldn't wait for them to install so brought it home and future son in law tried. They do know red/black. Clamps turned out not to be tight, so corrected and still car is dead. No lights, or anything. Put charger on it and hour later no juice, even thought the gauge on the charger was only half way and showed a slight charge took place.
So replaced the old weak battery and it was also dead, and put charger on it and am waiting, but wondering IF there is anything I should look for as far as any fuse, breaker or something else maybe to kill everything?

Check the large fuses in the under hood fuse box.

Fuse no. 15 (80A), alternator, power distribution (main fuse) is probably blown. Also take a look at fuse no. 19 (50A), ignition switch (BAT).

To replace the large fuse requires a Philips head screw driver.

If fuse(s) are not blown, check the ground (at battery and chassis, etc.) and power wires and connections. Look at the condition of the wires to see if they are frayed or corroded at the core.
