Default 91 Accord EX 2.2 L Auto Sticky Ignition

Searched the threads but saw no reference to my question. The ignition switch has become increasingly more cranky on this unit. I have to move the steering wheel slightly to the right while moving the key around and turning it at the same time. Sometimes the switch is more cranky than others. The car has 240,000 miles so I am wondering if old keys may be the issue. Is this generally an issue with the key cylinder or is there something in the mechanics behind the cylinder that may be the issue ?
I would like to think I can just replace the key cylinder and be on my way.

Thanks, Galen.

Might dry some "lock-ease" spray to see if that helps.....just an idea.

Worn key may not push the lock pins far enough to open the lock. You can get a new key cut by Honda from original codes (I think Honda can supply the key code).

Or you can install new lock assy w/ new keys.

I like PM's suggestion combined w/ a new key.

good luck
