So...I have read many similar threads on here, but none that sound like what mine is doing.
It runs great cold, and most of the time in closed-loop. On the freeway, at steady speeds it will randomly start misfiring..almost like it is running out of gas. If I let off completely, then punch it it takes off and clears right up. In my mind it seems like a problem with the O2 sensor or MAF..TPS..?? When I gas it does the throttle position being hard open bypass the O2 sensors reading? As soon as it shifts down and the RPM's go up it clears right up and takes off. Again, open loop it has never done this...

 

My guess....the O2 or clogged egr ports

 

I think I am going to replace the O2 sensor. This thing has 240k on it and I'm sure it's original. I manage a shop that does lot's of business with a Euro repair shop. We are going to use his OBD1 scanner so we can watch it's activity while driving. That'll tell us for sure.
