howdy
my ex burnt a valve at 227k so i replaced it with a 131k head and new gasket of course....now after a very few miles the engine smokes like a tire smudge at a boy scout campout. Any idea why this is happening other than the obvious difference in miles .........something i may have done wrong so perhaps i wont need to change the engine ?

did you put the head in yourself? also was that remanufactured head or used?

I vote for head gasket - wether bad or put in incorrectly.

although thats my best choice, I would think valve seals could cause smoke also -

but this is like opening the can of worms -

I don't really know what kind of advice you're seeking but I would start with head gasket.

I see a lot of screwed up jobs - some people just don't care while fixing cars

....think of it as a surgeons who forget tools inside of the patients - **** happens...

 

recheck to make sure evrything is tightly sealed and inplace if worse comes to worse see what honda says
