Smoking under hard acceleration

Default Smoking under hard acceleration

well i have a question for you experts. i have a 90 accord dx 5 speed. when i accelerate up to 4500 RPM' s my car burns alot of oil out the tail pipe. i did a compression test and all are between 178 and 182. i just also adjusted the valves still no luck. this is my first honda. so please take pitty on me. what should be my next step i'm thinking about taking it in and having a leak down test done? thanks for the help.

could be psiton rings giving up.

First check the PCV system and be sure the PCV valve (rattling PCV valve) and hose are clean and functioning.

Next try this experiment. Allow the fully warmed car to idle for 2-3 minutes and then accelerate sharply away while observing how much smoke. You may need to follow a helper driving your car. Next inspect smoke after driving steady for 2-3 minutes, coming to a stop, and then accelerating w/o a pause. If you see lots of smoke in first case, and little smoke in 2nd case, the valve stem seals may be leaking oil into the combustion chamber causing the smoke. If smoke is same for both cases, the oil is bypassing the rings. This usually means an overhaul or engine replacement.
