92 accord lx, bad oil leak.
First off id like to thank anybody who has any advice for me, or who can help me out here.
I took my 92 accord to a local mechanic back in october, to have the timing belt/water pump replaced, and to fix a small oil leak. Got the car back, everything was fine, until 3 weeks later i noticed a small drip of oil under the car, looking like it was coming from the oil pan gasket. So i pulled that off, replaced it, filled it back up with oil and everything looked good. Then, i started it back up and the drip started again.
I took it back to the mechanic, who promised to check it out and see what he could do free of charge. He said there was a seal bad on the oil pump, and put a sleeve? in it for free, but had no effect. This was a few weeks ago and seeing as how i have to work 6 days a week and have no other means of transportation ive had no choice but to drive it the 18 miles a day to work and back, leaking oil so bad that my back drivers rim is covered in oil, and oil drops are sprayed up the back drivers bumper, and there is two oil spots the size of silver dollars underneath when its parked for only 10 minutes.
The leak is coming from inside the timing cover, i have been able to pinpoint this, so i imagine my timing belt is slinging oil all over the inside of the cover, while its pooling up at the bottom and dripping out. The mechanic told me the whole oil pump needs replaced, sounds more like just a seal to me? ive also heard of a retainer that goes on one of these seals to keep it from coming loose?
Im not sure how much of job this is going to be, as i dont have much choice but to do it myself. Again i appreciate any advice that anyone can give me as im not really sure what im getting myself into here, both in cost of the repair and the time its going to take.

these pictures are in order, new oil pump housing with all gaskets is like 50 bucks. you are going to need air tools. Sort of wish you would have held out on the belt and wp as you could have done these as well. you shouldn't need to pull the motor to perform this so I would say around 2-5 hour job if you are ok at wrenching and have good basic tools and its your first time.
Typically, just the seals would need replaced and not the oil pump.
I don't know what your mechanic did with the sleeve. That might require a new oil pump.
Can you ask him what seal was leaking (front or rear balance shaft, camshaft, or crankshaft seals)? Also ask if the sleeve caused a problem to the oil pump.

I would honestly replace the entire assembly, as these seals should not leak what so ever unless there is some other issue present. If you are going to drop the damper and pull the outer unit, it is only a few more bolts top drop the whole housing plus pickup
