ok thanks for the information. i guess i'll have to look at one of the links that was given to me earlier to know which one is C5. i already did price out capacitors and they are pretty cheap but i would have to buy a soldering iron before i could repair it. i'll start with the testing and inspecting with a magnifying glass first. thank you so much for the additional information

 

so today i cleaned the shift solenoids. i guess i will see how it acts over the next day or so.
