Exclamation 92 Honda Accord ignition switch replacement

I started my car, and the ignition got stuck ALL the way forward in the 3rd position and was unable to turn it off. I was able to drive it, but whenever it was in 'park' it made a sound as if i tried turning on my car when its already on...resulting in my car shutting down after staying on, smoking for a few minutes and it smelled electrical. lights still worked so i know the alternator is okay. I unplugged the positive charge to my battery to save it. Does the ignition must be in the 1st position in order to poke the pin poke hole? What exactly do I need to do with the pin poke hole? I'm unable to turn it backwards at all. Can anyone please help me?

The lock cyl is held on by "shear" bolts. Go to an online parts store and look up the "lock cyl" and you will see it comes as an assy.

To get the "shear" bolts out, many methods on this.
