Default 1995 Ignition Switch replacement

Any helpful tips on replacing the electrical component only of the ignition switch in a 95 Accord LX? The Helm manual says to drill out the shear bolts holding the entire assembly to the steering column. I don't see a way to remove the electrical component without removing the shear bolts. I thought someone here may have a less intrusive means to accomplish the removal. Thanks in advance for any help.

take a look at the link above ..

you need to remove the switch completely out of the car otherwise you cannot get to the screw for the electrical portion,,,,,,,,
you DO NOT have to drill the sheared bolts, once you remove the steering wheel covers ,, get a sharp punch and a hammer and hit the sheared switch bolts counterclock wise to remove them,, .. that's how i do it and it works great.. those bolts are not very tight at all..

That was exactly the sort of tip I needed. Everything went like a charm as you said. Thanks again for the information.
