93 Accord fuel pump harness connector

93 Accord fuel pump harness connector
We have a 93 Accord LX wagon. The connector (3 pin) power pin must have gotten hot at some time as the plastic connector shell is blistered. Honda doesn't seem to make the connector & pins available for replacement. Does anyone know where to get the OEM connector shell & pins. We do not want to use an alternative after market connector because if the pump ever needs to be replaced, we want to be able to use the factory replacement pump set (with the factory connector). Also, it appears that the dealer books show that the wagon replacement pump is actually a pump set, complete to the mount flange (the pump by itself is not available for the wagon). We could splice in a pigtail if it were available, but Honda doesn't show one. The only other alternative that we can think of is to clip that pigtail off of a harness in the junk yard.

You answered your own question. Cut-off from a junk yard car is probably only option. Car-part.com may help to locate a donor (probably any accord from 1990-1993 and perhaps later models also).

Thanks, I checked with one yard this morning and they said that the 92 was different. We WILL however check around for another 93. We just prefered to use a new part, if possible, and it snowed here today and the thought of climbing around in the mud & snow didn't sound like fun.

It may not look nice, but if it's functional or can be rigging, perhaps by bending male pins slightly, it might do until you can get a replacement.
Note, you could modify both sides of harness w/ a replacement male/female unit. Non-standard, but functional.

It has a non standard connector spliced in at the present. (We took it in to a local shop to have them listen to the upper end noise and things went to heck in a handbasket. They said it wouldn't start and replaced the PGM-FI relay and the connector to the fuel pump. It hasn't been reliable since. We are just trying to get it back to where it was when we took it to them.) We prefer to stay as close to original as we can. We plan to go to a local junk yard this afternoon (weather permitting), where there is another wagon, to try and remove a section of it's harness. That way, when we DO replace the fuel pump set with a Honda pump set, it should plug right in. Also, when traveling, if we have trouble in that area, the shop that would work on it on the road won't have to try and work with something non-standard. A lot of places seem challenged by that, or just won't work on it.
Thanks
