My key won't turn in the ignition...I've tried wiggling steering wheel and different keys...it feels like somethings jammed....it makes the dinging sound, so i know the key is all the way in.

Never had an issue before.....

Do i need to replace the ignition?

Work some lubricant into the lock cylinder? Oil is messy, but if it IS corroded & stuck, that might be what you need.

 

Also, try moving the steering wheel back and forth while you try to turn the key. You may have engaged the steering wheel lock.

 

My son has a Dodge Intrepid and they were letting there little girl pull the key in and out of the ignition. When they got ready to start the car they had the same problem. I searched on the internet and came up on a Dodge forum and found the same problem with the ignition. The fix was to put the key into the ignition and hit the end of the key with a rubber mallet four or five times. Didn't work on the first try but the second time it worked (I hit it harder on the second try) and the steering unlocked and the car cranked. The forum stated you will need to changed the igintion later on because it is not a perm fix.
