HI Guys,
I have a 94 Accord LX coupe that stalled at a stop light, and will not start now. I can hear the fuel pump turn on and run, but it just cranks, no start. Any sugestions in narrowing down the problem would be appreciated, as the local mechanic wants $150 just to look at it. Thanks

 

If you have a timing light, hook it up to a spark plug wire and try to start the car. The light should flash when the engine is cranking.

 

Check for spark mentioned above, check fuel pressure, and then check compression.

 

You need fuel, spark and compression to run. You can put a spark plug in one of the wires and with the metal part of the plug grounded and check for spark. Take a plug out and put a little gas in and reassemble and see if it tries to start or spay some gas into the throttle body with it held open. Check and see if the cam is turning and last a compression test if you have fuel, spark and the cam is turning.
