94 accord pressure on raditor cap

Default 94 accord pressure on raditor cap
what would be causeing pressure on a cap , car had been sitting like 30 minutes after driving , went out side to open the cap , it had so much pressure on it that it blew the cap completely off when i went to take it off .what would be causing the pressure build up not being released ?

It could be a faulty radiator cap. That holds pressure up to ~16 psi and should release any pressure higher than that.
