Default '94 accord shift rpm?

Just bought a 1994 accord 2.2 vtec automatic. The transmission went out so I replaced it with a used one. Everything seems to be working fine, just had one question. When I'm full throttle it shifts at 4500 rpm. Is that normal? I hear the vtec kick in at about 4100-4200 then shifts at 4500-4600. I figured i'd get more than 300 rpms of vtec. I'm new to the import world so any help would be great, thanks.

Maybe the adjustment on the transmission control cable - that's the cable from the throttle-body down to the trans.

The control lever on the trans should begin to move IMMEDIATELY when the throttle begins to open. If that cable's too loose, the tranny will think you're not at WOT.

Default Thanks

I'll take a look at this when I get to work. Will this problem cause my overdrive light around the D4 indicater to flash till the check engine light comes on?

The flashing D-4 lamp is the tranny's version of a check-engine light. Jumper the SCS connector like you're gonna read the flashing CEL code. But the D-4 lamp will flash instead (or in addition to) the CEL.
