Default 94 accord wont start

Hello: I have a 94 accord 2.2L 4cly manual. My car starts up slow in the winter time as most cars do, but the other week it was really cold out and my car wouldnt start. It would crank slower and slower then no crank at all. So i figured my battery was dead, so i borrowed a battery charger from a friend and charged the battery, it didnt help. So i bought a new battery plugged it in and then i tried to start the car and wouldnt start just cranked and cranked and it sounded really weird when it was cranking. Before it would sound like any other honda as they start (you know the honda sound) but with the new battery it sounds like a high pitched wing wing wing wing sound but no start.. I didnt have any symptoms prior to this.. I changed the cap and rotor still no start. any ideas?

Is the cam turning? Or you can remove the cap and have someone turn it over and make sure the dist rotor is turning.

If so then you'll need to verify spark and fuel......I'm betting the spark is gone, yes the cap and rotor were replaced but the ICM and other things in the ign system need to be TESTED, please do not replace anything without testing.

Have you checked for stored diagnostic codes?

An easy test for spark/fuel problem is to attempt to start w/ starter fluid or throttle body cleaner sprayed into throttle body intake (50-10 secs). If car starts briefly and dies, the problem is lack of fuel supply (main fuel relay, fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel level). If no-start, then ignition problem is confirmed.

good luck
