94 honda accord idles low at stop (on drive)
i got a different problem, honda accord idles low at stop (on drive),it started after a 2hour trip through some mountain pass on a freeway, after i got off my car started idling real low at a stop light (below 500rpms), like it wanted to shut off. a mechanic recommend i change my IACV and FAST IDLE VALVE (under throttle body),I also cleaned the upper intake and throttle body.after all this my car still idles below 500rpms and shakes alot sometime stalls, this only happens after about 5miles any thing else i can try?

Frequently, the idle air control valve and associated air passages will become clogged w/ dirt/oil gunk. The valve will either freeze or passages are blocked preventing any idle air bypass for idle speed control. Result is low idle speed.
Idle air control valve must be removed (2-bolts, not easy to access but possible) and cleaned. Leave coolant hoses attached and clean in place. Passages should be cleaned. Front and back of throttle plate and bore should be cleaned. Use throttle body cleaner.
After cleaning, you may need to reset the idle speed, but probably not.
Download the 94-97 Accord manual from this site for idle setting procedure and general help w/ this job.
A search will find plenty of other experiences on this job.
good luck

Did you clean the valve movement carefully and air passages either side of valve? A test to see if IACV is working is to disconnect IACV and see if idle changes when load (AC or headlights) is added. If no change in performance, then IACV is not compensating. Something is wrong w/ idle compensation.
This will cause CEL to come on and you'll need to reset ECU.
Also if anyone has changed the throttle plate idle stop position from factory settings, you can have idle problems. It will need to be readjusted.
good luck
