Happy New Year!!!!! I have 94 accord that has developed a miss at idle. It seems to drop and catch itself before it can die. It doesn't seem to matter if i'm in neutral, drive or park. I'd like to get ahead of this before it leaves the wife stuck somewhere.
Thanks,
Bone

Bumps head, wakes up, changes trans fluid in the Pilot, sway bar end links on the 5th gen, checks fluids and tire pressure in all of the others...oh, back to work
Start simple. Are the tune up items (cap, rotor, plugs, check wires, ect) up to date? Does this only happen once the engine is to temp or when warming up as well. Any stored codes (CEL on or came on while driving)?

Usually a miss is ignition related.
Suggest loosening all spark plug leads (just sitting on spark plugs) and sequentially removing/installing spark plug leads. Missing cylinder will be indicated by no change when spark plug lead is removed. Bad plug, damaged boot, wire, or cracked distributor tower are possibilities.
It's also possible, but less likely, that miss is result of improper air/fuel mix. This would result from a large air leak on intake manifold or EGR malfunction (EGR valve open at idle).
A faulty or fouled injector (very rare) might cause a miss. This would be isolated to one injector by spark removal check above. Missing cylinder again would show no change when spark plug lead is removed. However, in this case the reason would be a damaged injector.
good luck
