Loud clunk tranny sound
I have a 2006 Accord VP Edition. Since the past couple of days I feel the sound of the engine has changed and it has like a weird sound as if something is rubbing/grinding in it. This started when the transmission starting slipping gears to the extent that it gets completely free between 2nd and 3rd and the rpm rises till the gear kicks in with a loud thump and the car jerks. Then I noticed that the sound of shifting between R and D is the loudest clunk I have ever heard. Today it feels even worst that when I put into D and drive, it hardly moves until I press the accelerator a little and then it kicks in with a jerk.
I haven't gotten it's transmission fluid changed since I got the car ( 3 months ago ) because a couple of mechanics told me that it might make the tranny worse.
My car has 145K miles on it.
Should I get the transmission flushed or something ?
Or is it a big problem such as a failing transmission ?
Any help or advise would be appreciated

Fluid change won't do anything at this point. Honda does not recommend "flushes" they just advise to do drain and re-fills. Scary post I've got 144,000 on mine I've been draining/refilling annually myself since around 90,000 (maybe 4-5 years now.) I've been doing it every summer in hopes of extending the life of the tranny.
