Default 94 trunk light & courtesy light not working

I have a 94 EX. The trunk light does not light when trunk is opened and the drivers side courtesy light does not light when door is open. Both bulbs are good as I have tried them in other locations. All other door courtesy lights work. Dome light works, just replaced bulb. Dash lights are working fine.

Any suggestions? Could it be the multiplex control unit?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Woody

Check the No. 16 (7.5A) interior light fuse in the underhood fuse box, see attached pic.

Your generation Accord doesn't have Multiplex Integrated Control Units (MICU). It has an Integrated Control Unit. The integrated control unit shouldn't have anything to do with the trunk light and courtesy light.

Thanks for the info, Ill check that fuse. I didnt think it would be a fuse as all the other door lights are working as is the overhead light.

I also noticed that when I use my key to unlock the door it doesnt unlock all doors, but if I use the key on the passenger side door it does unlock all doors. Wouldnt think that would be related but thought Id put it on here anyway.

Thanks again.

I don't think they had multiplexers until 1998.

Light switch is probably built into the trunk latch, so maybe there's some loose wiring back there somewhere?

Fuse is good. Also noticed that dome light does come on when door is opened so it appears the switch in drivers door is working.

Trunk light is really the one that bothers me. Ill check but I dont remember seeing any wires by the trunk latch. The switch is in the latch?

I found the wires in the trunk lid. Connectors visible in two places, one right by the latch and one off to the right when looking at the car from behind. Both connectors seem to be latched tightly.

Had the same issue, traced wires with multimeter and probe light to this location and there was a disconnected orange wire inside this loom. Reconnected the wire and all is well.

Pull the door panel and make sure the light is plugged in.
