Default 95 accord: Clattering sound coming from rear when hitting bumps

Hi, usually when i hit a pothole or small bump I hear a clattering sound (not that loud) coming from the rear as if two plates are hitting/vibrating against each other. I'm pretty sure it isn't anything in the trunk. I wondering if maybe it might have something to do with my shocks and if it's something serious, if anyone has any ideas.

Thanks.

First check the stablizer bar bushings and mountings for wear and security. This would be an easy repair if you find a problem.

LOts of parts in rear suspension, so lots of possibilities. Pull the wheel and look carefully for any missing bolts, nuts, or bent parts. Strut mounting should be check for loose bolts.

good luck

Can you make the noise by bouncing the back of the car? If so, then you can have someone do that while you try to pinpoint the location of the sound.

No, bouncing the car doesn't make the sound. It only happens with quick strong bumps. I wasn't really able to pinpoint the problem, but I realized that my rear fender was completely loose on the sides which may be what's making the noise. The snaps are missing and the screws are loose and won't tighten anymore. I can basically peel the fender off easily by hand.
