Default '95 Accord V6: Replacing Ignition Coil

My tachometer isnt working and the check engine light is on. Did some searching and it seem to be the ignition coil that is causing CEL to go on. Anyone with service manual can help me with replacing it?

95 V6 is OBD-2 - one year early.

Go to AutoZone to read the error code. Give us the actual error codenumber, not the guys explanation.

But you are correct. Unlike most other Accords, YOUR tachometer signal comes from the coil.

Your coil is external (#5). Plug & Play.

First of all, your car may still be under warranty. There is an extended warranty for 94-97 Accords. As long as you have less than 150k miles and the car is 14years old or newer, the coil is covered under the warranty. Just google “Honda Service Bulletin 98-081†– a dealer will replace for free if still under warranty.

I dont know about you guys but AutoZone in my city, Sacramento, are not allowed to do free scanning anymore. Something about deallership bitching to the congressman. Also, my car is way over 200k miles so its not still under warannty.

How do I correctly remove the distributor? So I can get to the two back bolts on the ignition coil.

Edit: Nevermind, I figured out how to do it. But, is it important/neccesary to replace the o-rings or can I just reuse the old o-rings that are already there?

Replaced the ignition coil. Problem is now solved. Tach is working and CEL has disappeared.
