Default 95 Automatic Trans. Question

Hi Everyone,

Looking to see if I could get some help here. My '95 accord had a problem with it's Auto Tranny. Coming home one day...the tranny would not shift out of first gear....hi rev...no shift...at all out of first. Reverse worked fine. Took it to a shop nearby same thing...no shift out of first. The shop took the car...checked things out and told me the tranny need to be rebuilt...$1,800 costs. I just could afford it, nor did I think it was worth it at the time.

I ended up purchasing a used AOYA Tranny with low mileage that I was going to have installed at a different shop. Took the car out today to drop off and the tranny shifted repeatly like normal...1st...2nd ...3rd with no isssues. Now I'm not sure what the hell is going on. Any suggestions as to what the issue may be... sensors... computer???

Thanks for any help

Is D4 liight flashing? If yes, there are trans codes that will help diagnose the problem.

Check for trans codes, even if D4 isn't flashing. Some codes don't set D4 flashing.

good luck

Look in DIY section for guidance on check OBD1 codes. D4 light will flash them after you short service check connector (under glove box).

Post back what you find.

There are some codes that will not cause the D4 to come on while driving, so yes jump the service connector and see if there are any codes (TCU or ECU).

Also, when was the last time the fluid was drained and filled?
