Default 95 honda accord ex vtec manual 5 speed over temp issue

Ok, I got a excellent deal on this car, $500.00 has after market header, custom exhaust all the way up, and good cold air intake, I bought it for a project car, but it is over heating, motor sound and feels great, I noticed that the temp gauge works but only go's up to right below normal even though the car is over heating so because the temp gauge is just right below normal the fans dont kick on, Any suggestions, I am thinking a sensor, But i am going to go ahead and replace the water pump and timing belt while i am at it since it dose have over 100k miles and thermostat, I am also wondering if the water pump is not working completely so there might be air in the lines and dose not allow the sensors to read correctly? Any suggestions welcome and Pic's of any sensors i need to check Thanks in advance!

run the car, open the bleeder valve until coolant comes out.

Bleeder valve located where lower radiator hose connects to intake.

Are you sure the coolant is full?

Car off, open the heater control valve (use **** to max heat or manaully), pull the bleeder all the way out (check that it is not clogged), remove cap. Be sure the coolant in the rad is full. Add if needed, should start to come out of the "hole" where the bleeder was. Install bleeder after you cleaned it. Try the bleeding again.

If your rad is full, check your sensor. It could be faulty, giving you a normal reading when it is actually hot
