96 accord wont start
I have a 96 honda accord that sometimes wont start. In order to get it to start you have to cycle the key a few time and wiggle the shifter repeatedly. The car when have having this issue will just click the starter. other than that the car runs fine when started. Any suggestions to what it could be?
I've moved this to General Tech - fits a bit better here.
Do you have a volt meter to do some testing?
There are a few things that come to mind and instead of wasting money by replacing a bunch of stuff it would be better to narrow it down.
Starter going bad, weak battery, gear position switch not working, shift cable adjustment, bad connections on the battery....I could keep going

If you are going to test things and have a volt meter.....start with reading the voltage on the battery at "rest"......I know this is only one simple test.
Next would be to read the voltage at the starter - small wire first - when trying to start the car.
