96 hond aaccord lx crankshaft pulley issues
yes there are 3 belts.
the ac belt, which i initially mistook for the power steering belt, is still on. the alternator belt and the power steering belt come off. while i have not seen the crankshaft pulley run and wobble at the same time due me being the only one working on it, i reached in and grabbed it with my hand. it wiggled as if it were loose. a friend who has more car savvy than me advised that driving a car in such a condition, although when giving this advice he was not model specific, may result in permanent damage to the motor...ie new car time. the bank of Me cannot afford that at this juncture
at this point, i may just renew my AAA tomorrow and have it towed. will post a pic in the am.

Knowing that you still have a waterpump (driven by the timing belt), you can drive without the external belts.
You have to judge the wobbly pulley. If the center hub part of that pulley is still secure, you're OK. If the outer part wobbles but is not loose, that's OK too.
If the center part is LOOSE, then you should try to remove it, so it doesn't fly off while you drive to the mechanic.

when i turned on the car, the pulley was wobbling like hell at this point. i shut the car off, renewed my AAA and had it towed to my family mechanic. It sounded like it was gonna fly the hell off. no bueno. would traveling up and down a mountain (eg big bear mountain) make worse a loose pulley? cause i traveled with no problem.
The rubber part of the pulley likely broke. It really shouldn't have much to do with driving conditions.
Replacing the pulley should be relatively inexpensive. If the pulley was wobbling due to a crankshaft problem, then the motor is toast.
My guess is the pulley will just need replaced.

It would've been good if you noticed whether the hub of that pulley was spinning straight. If so, then you just have a broken pulley.
If the center hub was wobbling too, then it's possible (not certain) that the crankshaft is damaged.

Not trying to beat you up for not noticing... just extra information for other people who read about this in the future.
