I'm trying to figure out why my engine vibrates pretty bad when i turn on the air conditioner ???

 

my 97 also vibrates but not real bad. I asked a mechanic about it and he said most of them do vibrate to a certain extent but not excessively.

there are 3 engine motor mounts, 1 front 1 rear and 1 side and also a tranny mount on the passenger side of the car. Check them closely to see if they are intact or need replacement.

you can probably also after visual inspection, start the car and pop the hood and rev the engine up from the throttle control while seeing if your engine moves up.

I had a 94 accord and the front mount rubber was completely gone, so I replaced that one.

thanks buddy ur the second one that told me to check the mounts ... i think i will have them replaced ...

 

with close inspection, you can probably figure out which one is bad, and maybe replace yourself. The top side engine mount is very accesible, and easy to change.

or you can let a shop do it, which sometimes is ok too.

personal preference I guess.
