96 lx starter

Default 96 lx starter

so the starter is going bad in my accord. it will crank a little bit then it wont crank at all until i tap on the starter. any tips on replacing the starter???

Pretty simple replacement. Disconnect battery first (make sure you have the code for radio, if stock). Disconnect the wires going to the starter, should be 2 of them. Top bolt is a 14mm, and the bottom is 17mm. You're going to want to use a 6" extension on your ratchet for both bolts, makes things easier. Installation is in reverse, good luck. Oh and your battery tray might get in the way. I found it easier to take the battery out w/ the battery tray.

Is there anything else I need. Like to I need to jack my car up should I remove and install it from the top or bottom ?

The top bolt of the starter, you can access from the top of the car.

The bottom bolt was accessed from under the car. I had to use a few extension/socket combinations before I got the ratchet in a space where I could turn it.

It wasn't too bad to remove.
