97 Accord: dash showing HI beams on but NO HI, only low beams work

Default 97 Accord: dash showing HI beams on but NO HI, only low beams work

My 97 accord is opposite, low beams work and idiot lite on dash works showing HI beams on but NO HI beams , low only on ,in either position (lo/hi)

I moved your post to a new thread.

Your issue may be more than one thing not working properly.
  1. For the high beams not working, check that the high beam bulbs are good (i.e., not blown).
  2. For the high beam indicator staying on, it can be possibly either a short in the dimmer relay, a faulty combination switch (there is a dimmer switch and flash-to-pass switch as part of the combination switch), or wire short to ground (e.g., exposed wire touching ground). If you pull the dimmer relay and the high beam indicator does not stay on, then it is most likely not a wire being shorted to ground.
If the dimmer relay (which is a normally open relay) was shorted closed, it would provide the ground for the high beam and dash high beam indicator and they would stay on all the time (if the high beam bulbs were not blown). The similar thing could happen if the dimmer switch or the flash-to-pass switch were shorted; this in turn would close the dimmer relay and keep the high beams on all the time (if the bulbs were not blown).
