Cool 97 Accord Headlight Removal

Good day all!

My DS headlight is pretty dull looking. I tried one of those 3m headlight restoration kit's a few months ago where you polish the lens. It looked good for a while but now looks bad again.

I am thinking about going to the local junk yard, and pulling a good headlight out of a vehicle. Looking at my car it does not appear that easy to remove, and I am thinking the bumper has to come off.

Has anyone replaced their headlights, and how difficult is the job? Also if anybody has any ideas on restoring the headlight lens without removal would be appreciated!

Thanks

I wet sanded mine with like 2000 grit paper, allowed it to dry completely, tape off everything around the light, then put a couple of light clear coat layers on it.

Polishing them will work for a while, but they will get cloudy again.

Thanks for the info guy's. It sounds like the polish method is no permanent fix, but I'll give it another try.

The PS light is clear as a bell, and never had a problem with that one?

what happens is...the headlight is on and hot...rain, roadgrime, etc get on the lens...it will fog up regardless...the only ones that dont are glass...and those are damn expensive. I did a couple coats of clear as well...but I know it will eventually fog up again.

korrupt,

Took your advice and got the Megquiars kit from Walmart today. It did a pretty good job, the headlamps are both very clear now.

Also looked for some clear coat spray, but they did not have any. Will check at the local Autozone I guess.

Thanks for all the info. Honda members!
