97 Accord v6 gear selector and high mount brake light?

97 Accord v6 gear selector and high mount brake light?

The gear selector will come out of park without the brake being pressed and the high mount brake light does not work. Are these related to each other?

Are your brake lights on all of the time? Does your cruise control work?

No they are not, I have not tried the cruise control

Your high mount brake light bulb is likely just burned out.

As for the shifter, you might want to inspect the shift lock mechanism.
