1993 Accord LX 4D Auto with 200K. I having some trouble with Transmission. While driving RPM is high and car don’t move in any gear. I have to turned off and start then move, I can drive for some time again high RPM and gear slipped, temp needle high near to red, when drive comes to normal. Red light also blinking, is there electrical issue or need new transmission. I really appreciated your help.

 

If a red light is blinking, it is either the D4 light or the S light. Check for error codes stored in the TCU by shorting a service connector behind the passenger's kick panel.

As for the temp gauge going to H, check that the radiator is full of coolant when the car is cold. Remove radiator cap to inspect.

 

Thanks for your time, the red light is to check oil not D4 light. I followed your advise and the coolant is fine. Any idea?. I have been told to replace the transmission. Advise please

 

The oil pressure light is for the engine oil. Low oil pressure can damage your engine.

Check the dipstick to see if there is enough oil in the engine, asap. Add enough oil so the level is between the two dots.
