97 engine swap
hello.
I am swapping the motor from a 97 accord ex (vtec) into another 97 accord but has a non-vtec engine that is blown. Now the motors physically are the same as far as mounting, but there is one wire for the vtec sylinoid which is not in the wiring harness on the car, because its not originally a vtec car. Now swapping the harnesses out is a much bigger project because it is all one peice behind the dash and requires the dash the be pulled out. Now I am using the ecu from the vtec car to match with the motor and I beleive I can just run a wire directly from the ecu to the vtec sylinoid since its not in the plug. I am just wondering if anyone on here has heard of this before or had to do something similar and might have some advice for me. Other then that one wire, the harnesses are exactly the same. Thanks for the advice.

RE: 97 engine swap
ok. Now whats the easiest way to find out which plug in the ecu its in? Cause theres three plugs that go into the ecu. I was thinking I would have find the color of the vtec wire which I believe is green with a yellow stripe, and then find the plug that that color wire goes into on the other end by the ecu. Thanks for your help, its much apreciated!
