Yep, that is the place.

I'm leaning towards the vc gasket......but to be sure pull the top cover and run the engine.....unless it is clear that the cam seal is leaking.

when the car was state inspected, 2/12 i had them do a point inspection and vc gasket was on the list, and there is an oil puddle in the bolt that holds the vc on the engine, the one closest to tb, it holds the cruise cable? in place. the oil pops through the hole where it bolts on, i have gasket silicone i am going to use to stop that leak...

also what should i look for when running the car, spitting oil??

im gonna remove the vc as soon as its cool enough to

If the cam seal is leaking, yea pretty much that "spitting oil". Or maybe "flinging" oil. As the oil will drip passed the seal then the cam gear/cam snout will fling it.

Also when that cover is off, you'll get a better view of the vc gasket. Again look at it where the "cam hump" is.....might take a rag and some cleaner and wipe down that area on the head - firewall side - of the head.

i couldnt seem to get the tb cover off, it seemed kinda stuck but here is a pic of the timing belt, at least a part of it, the cam gear is dry to the touch without any residue, the belt does have oil on it but it is not saturated. the 2 bolts near the tb on vc where a little loose, dunno if that has something to do with it, but here is the pic.
