Default 98 2.3l ULEV NEED HELP

I have a 1998 accord ex 2.3l ULEV automatic transmission. I have to swap the motor and need to know if I can still use my computer or have to do anything with that also? Please help need this this to start. Have replaced the timing system, plugs, wires, main relay is good. I have fuel spark but reads low compression on all four cylinders.

What compression numbers are you getting?

Are you pushing the gas pedal to the floor when you do your compression test?

It is strange that you have low compression across the cylinders for no reason.

Timing was listed on the items you changed. Did you replace the timing belt, and why? Did you have this starting problem before you replaced these items?

The guy said he started the car ran back inside to grab his things came back out and the car was not running no antifreeze on the ground and it would not start so when I got it I did The Replacements as listed and it's still reading the low compression so I'm almost to the point of just replacing the F23A4 motor that's in it and I'm wondering if I have to use the same type of motor or if I can use an F23A1 or an F23A5 if you had the answer to that question that be great I'd like to use the same computer and harness

I would stick with the same exact motor to ensure you don't run into any issues.

I think the PCM and the car's wiring harness is very different for the ULEV engine. If you have to use an F23A1 you might be able to somewhat make it into a ULEV by taking the exhaust manifold & front O2 sensor, along with your ULEV engine wiring harness. I don't know what other sensors might have been different.

You want to stay away from the F23A5 engine, because it doesn't have VTEC (also uses a different ECU). The F23A1 and A4 are very similar though, and will probably interchange the easiest.
My 99 Accord and my wife's 2000 Accord both are LEV cars, and have F23A1's in them. Like Jim pointed out above, I believe the main difference between ULEV and LEV is the exhaust manifold, down pipe, and catalytic converter. The rest is basically the same.
