98 ignition
problem; I have a 98 accord that whan ignition switch is turned , it may crank and may not.
switch turns all lights ,bell and whistles , but does not engage starter .This does not always happen and when it does ,turning the switch off and back on will eventually start engine. It may just take one repeat , but sometimes more. Switch on steer coloum was replaced seemed to have solved problem for short time , but the same problem has a resurfaced.
In summary the car has a good battery, ignition switch replaced, new starter and silinoid, no corrosion on any wires.
My thought is maybe one or both micro switches on clutch. Any other strong possibilities please would be thankful, process of elimination can be expensive.........

"process of elimination can be expensive"
Well that must mean you are throwing PART$ at a problem and not diagnosing correctly !!
Try testing the switches for the clutch with a multimeter set to the OHMS setting.
When my crystal ball informs me of how many cylinders the car has, I'll look up a schematic.

RE: 98 ignition
Consider that lots of metal on a key ring can interfer with the keys signal to the immoblizer.
Also many ignition switches that were replaced under recall have also failed a second time.
Honda was putting back in the same switchunit that was failing.
