Default 98 starts, then shuts off

Hi, I have a 98 Accord LX that will not start. First, the car has been sitting for about 3 years, it had a warped head gasket and there was no compression in cylinder 3. So, we got that fixed, and changed the oil put new gas and everything.. So now the car will crank up but it will only stay on if the gas pedal is pressed all the way down, the car does not rev or anything it stays at 1. What could it possibly be? My dad says that something is probably not timed right? Or worse case the block could have been warped as well!

The MAP and TPS connectors are the same size, did you happen to switch them when you were putting everything back together?

run some seafoam through the intake and put some in the fresh gas as well. Seafoam is the best stuff when it comes to cleaning out the fuel system and the crap buildup in the injectors.

Is there a CEL ?!?

Well, my dad was the one who put everything back together, so I'm not sure if he did or not, I'll have to ask him. Also What are signs that they are plugged in wrong?

Sounds like a fuel pump relay. Main relay under dash primes pump so if car starts then dies, this is a sign that relay in trunk is bad. Don't know where it is on your car, but look under access panel between carpet and forward trunk wall.

Do you have a code reader? If the check engine light is turned on, then the PCM likely stored a code.
