Default 99 Accord ex, v6 idle issue

I had an issue with my idle on my 99 Accord v/6. I would almost kill and kick off codes 300 through 306, all misfires. I removed the upper plenum and cleaned the hole that air flows through when the throttle is closed, I also cleaned the EGR valve. The car ran a lot better but the codes are coming back albeit they take a lot longer but they still come back.

Are there issues with the idle control valve with these cars?

Any suggestions?

I have seen reports on other Acura V6's (MDX) where valve adjustment was required to eliminate rough idle and missing. I don't understand how loose valve lash cause a miss, but there are a number of cases where posters reported this solved their rough idle problem.

good luck

I did adjust the valves about a year ago.

I ordered new wires, plugs and a rotor. That's what a TSB says about a low rpm miss. I did replace these componets about two years but I used aftermarket stuff from Autozone. I am thinking that the rotor tip is amde from inferior metal and is not conducting the spark very well? Who know?

These Honda V6s are notorioulsy bad idlers, I have learned. They dont use a mass airflow sensor like most cars to meter incoming airflow and relay on a lot of "bass akward" technology to control idle quality.

This problem ONLY occurs at idle.

It might be a number of things that taken as whole are causing it.
