Default 99 accord instrument lights out

Hi all, my 99 accord exv6 instrument cluster lights are out. I checked fuses, the column with park neutral d4 d2 lights up and dim when I turn the dimmer **** but the lights on cluster are out. I can't see the speed I'm going at night. The radio lights and ac lights work.

I read on that the multiplex may be bad and there is a way to bypass it. I tried that but it didn't work. The clock light wasn't on but I took it out and it was burnt. I was trying to take the light out of the instrument cluster, but they weren't coming off.

My questions are

1 how do I take the light out of cluster, I tried twisting it out but it doesn't come out

2 if its not the bulbs what else could it be.

Thanks all in advance

Welcome to the forum

Are the tail lights, plate light out too?
If so, possibly the #10 fuse located on the pass side, bottom row, 2nd from the right

Tail lights are fully functioning so is the plate light. I banged the dash and half the backlights came on, but the odometer light went out and that was on before. Can it be a loose connection or bulb.

"Can it be a loose connection or bulb."

Yes, that is certainly a possibility

There is a rather common problem with what I like to call "weird" lighting/electrical issues. Years ago we were replacing the drivers interior fuse panel which more often then not was the cause when the weird electrical issues started up. As best as we could tell there was a wiring problem within the panel. Not certain that is the cause but the part number for yours should be 38200-S84-A01 and cost around fourth dollars through the dealer. That is what we call a guilty price because of the amount of copper and all the fuses in it it should cost more then that, so Honda often will drop the price on a part if it is causing abnormal failures. Check the part number with your dealer by giving them your VIN. Good luck.
