do the tests as suggested , also make sure that wire is not grounding anywhere but it sounds like a bad gauge

When he unplugged the sender wire, the gauge did NOT rise up. So to me it sounds like a bad sender, not a bad gauge.

There are many online Honda Dealer websites you can go to and look up the part number.

David99accord has a 1999 LX 4-cyl. Part 37750-PH2-014 for that car in 4-door auto-trans trim.

I don't know what car MasterK has...?

I've replaced the sensor itself and I also replaced the temperature sensor sending unit..(both under the distributor)

Whenever I turn my car on it just goes from cold straight up to hot. I'm so confused why it's still doing that and I'm getting frustrated.. please don't rule out the cluster because that's my last resort..

PLEASE HELP
Hi first time posting here and I was running into a problem with the gauge not reading at all. From testing out my sending unit it read correctly cold ( I did not test it warm. But after replacing my sending unit with one from napa it cleared my issue and is now reading properly. I replaced the temp sensor first with no help. Sending unit was my issue.
