ABS in Accord 2007
Hello, I need some insight, please...
I have a 2007 Accord EX-L, and today I had a bad time with the ABS... I crashed another car. I was driving no more than 30 mph, the street was paved, with just a little downward slope. I noticed the cars beginning to stop at a red light, and when I pressed the brake, the ABS came on instantly... and the car never stopped. I pumped the pedal 2-3 times, but nothing. So I hit the car, and spent almost 2 hours there waiting for insurance, police and apologizing to the people in the other car.
Is this supposed to be normal? Street was dry, no gravel or sand on it, just the small slope. I'm pretty sure that without the ABS, my car would have stopped a lot sooner. I had noticed that ABS activated often and at low speeds, but never with this consequence.
Is this something that requires a fix? ...
Thank you in advance!

First, hope everyone is ok. Know you feel bad not only for them but you and then the car....it is metal and other things that can be repaired much easier than skin and bones.....
The list of possible things is long....master cyl, brake line(s), ect......and I am not aware of any "known" issues with an '07 and the brakes. I hope it was towed to a shop where they can look over everything and possibly find the cause, which BTW is a hint for you to tell them "something" failed....might also help with the court system is they can find the cause.
