Default ABS at low speeds, 2007 Accord

2007 Accord SE, Auto, 37k miles. Original brakes.

Recently the brakes feel like the ABS is engaging when I am going very low speeds, like 3 to 5 mph. At the end of my driveway, which is on a slight downslope, I can feel it. Not every time, but most of the time. Also at other times, such as in a parking lot going very slow speeds.

Once I get going 10 mph or above, the brakes work just fine. Any ideas?

Does this seem to happen after the car has sat for long periods of time....a few hours, say ~5?

PS - Welcome to HAF

Not always. Yesterday morning I drove home from work, the car sat in the garage for an hour, then it did it again when I drove down the driveway.

could be a boogered up wheel speed sensor. if you're handy, it's fairly easy to pull them out, clean'm and stick'm back in.

Thanks! I was kind of thinking that might be the problem. I think I can get to the sensor. But how do you suggest I clean it?

I found this youtube video that shows how to get to the sensors (put on mute - the music is terrible).

The sensor is magnetic, so it can build up a pile of metal shaving. Usually there's one bolt & the sensor comes out of the knuckle. Could be stuck with corrosion?

the ear that fastens it to the knuckle is plastic and can break...spray some penetrating lube on it first.
