ABS Red Dashboard Light

ABS Red Dashboard Light
I have observed about 5 or 6 times in the past 3 weeks the ABS malfunction light staying on after a start up. If I shut the engine off it and restart the car the ABS system properly sequences until the dashboard light goes off. This is on a 2005 accord coupe LX 4 cyl with 123,000+ miles. I assume perhaps a sensor is malfunctioning or something is not fully operating through sequence on engine start up. I really don't want to pump a lot of money to repair this, but one day I am going to have to sell this car and I don't want to have a problem doing so. Fortunately, or not, there is no vehicle inspection law in Florida, so no immediate problem. Anyone have any ideas on what is going on here? Thanks and I appreciate any feedback in novice language.

To diagnose, the ABS code from ABS controller must be accessed. I check my 2003-2007 Accord manual and it does not indicate a "diy" method of extracting codes (two digit codes 11-81). It requires Honda Diagnostic System (HDS) which only dealer or honda-specific shop may have.
That said, others have extracted SRS codes w/ following procedure which may also work for ABS. See following link. ABS light should flash the code.

The SRS procedure may not exactly match ABS procedure. ABS always resets on restart, however codes may still be stored.
Only trial&error will tell if ABS will flash codes. Otherwise you'll need to find someone w/ a HDS compatible tool.
