AC Low Pressure Reading Really High
I have AC problems on my 2005 Honda Accord EX V6. 104,000 mi with Climate Control AC. I have never had the AC serviced before, and it started blowing hot air yesterday. Yesterday, it worked on and off, but finally quit cooling at all, and today, it did not ever cool. When it was working yesterday, it was "Brain Freeze" cold.
I purchased a pressure guage, and put it on the Low Pressure side, and the needle spun completely around past 80 lbs, and pegged out. Way too high pressure. I just had the transmission replaced at a Honda dealership last week. Could they have messed it up in the swap? What else could make the pressure spike so high.
P. S. I tested the guage on my GMC Yukon, and got a reasonable reading (50 lbs), so I know the guage is ok. What is the likely problem? I have owned the car since new, so unless the dealeship messed with the AC, it has never had any refrigerant added. I don't have the equipment to test the High Pressure side.
HELP!
