Accord 2007 What is this part called?

 

I think Honda calls that "air flow chamber" - not sure of the trim level or engine size in your 2007 but look at - PN# 17138-RAA-A00

 

What function does it have? I've tried to google it but haven't found out what does it do

 

My guess, a fancy way of connecting into the intake - I think the other end of that goes to the PCV so there might be some baffels or something in there.

My question - what the heck is all of that white stuff? Someone try to glue that thing to the intake tube?


EDIT: Again I'm guessing at the engine and trim level of your car.
