Accord Coupe V6 2015 CEL flashing
Hi All,
I have an Accord V6. The problem with mine started few weeks back, When i switch the car on in the morning the idling RPM is around 1100 and if i wait for it to come down, the CEL flashes, then if i switch it off and restart and put to Drive mode, it runs as normal. The engine is quite smooth with no roughness or jerks. But if i let it idle in parking for 30 seconds, the CEL flashes. Recently the CEL came on flashing again and the garage guys checked and said it is a misfire in 2 and 4 cylinders. they replaced the 2 coils and reset the codes. It worked fine for 1 day and again now when i revved to 3000 plus RPM in park mode, the CEL is flashing again with the car slightly shaking. It runs smooth when i switch it off and turn on again. I am not sure what exactly is the problem here. I had the same issue an year back when i changed all the 6 spark plugs and cleaned the injectors. 6 months back i changed coils on another 2 cylinders as well. Anyone here can help me what is happening before i take the car to garage and they charge me crazy for another repair?

When the check engine light turns on, codes are stored in the engine computer. Most autoparts stores can scan for codes as free service. Get the codes scanned and post the actual code on here. The start with the letter P and have 4 numbers, like P1234.
The error code is P0302 and P0304
You can try swapping coils, where you switch coil 2 with coil 1 and coil 4 with coil 5. If the codes switch to P0301 and P0305, then you know the coil(s) are the issue. If the code remains the same, then it it either a fuel injector, spark plug, or something with the internals of that particular cylinder.
If you are looking at your engine from the front bumper, the cylinders in the back near the windshield are numbered 1, 2, and 3 left to right. The front bank of cylinders are numbered 4, 5, 6 left to right. Swapping coils is pretty simple. We tried this at the garage and finally concluded that the injectors were dirty. Did ultrasonic cleaning. Now there is difference in performance and fuel efficiency. The injectors were cleaned 15k kms/15 months before. Usually, it has to be cleaned every 40k kms right? Do u think there is something with the fuel filters as well?
If the fuel filter is working properly, the injectors shouldn't require cleaning. Most newer accords (after 98 or 04) only have the sock filter in the fuel tank and isn't a typical service item.
I'm pretty sure there is not an in-line filter like older accords. You may want to inspect the fuel filter by pulling the fuel pump and looking for any debris in your fuel tank if the problem continues.
