accord LXI idle problem

I have a 89 Honda accord and sometimes sitting still it idles up and down what could be my problem .THANKS

A number of things. I'll assume the CEL is not on.

Start simple and bleed the cooling system to be sure there is no trapped air and that it is topped off.

Agreed 100% with Poorman212.

A basic tune-up might also help. Check your air filter, spark plugs, spark plug wires, etc.
