Do newer Civics share the same dimensions or platforms/similar that older Accords were built on?

I was just wondering...my brother has a newer Civic(09) and it feels/looks as big as my older 96 Accord does on the inside and out.

Are there any similarities? I dont know very much about these cars and the builds,just curious.I dont know if this is the right place for this topic,but if its not,mods pls move it where it needs to go.Thanks!

 

Pretty much nothing in common. You're right about the general size, but it's NOT the same platform.
