Hello, My 2019 Accord EX failed the state inspection today because of the airbag light on the dashboard. In the accessory mode (by pressing the engine start/stop button twice without pushing the brake), all lights came on except the airbag. As per the inspector, this light should stay on for 5-10 seconds every time the accessory mode is turned on. At home, when I tried the same thing, it did work the very first time. But would not come on again after I turned off/on accessory mode (tried in many times).
Same result, If I try it again after 5-10 minutes - It only comes on during the first attempt. Is this how it is supposed to work? I did a factory reset on the dashboard but it didn't help.



Airbag light

 

I don't know the answer, because the gauge cluster has the bulb check programmed. Maybe you owner's manual has this information on how the car performs the bulb check? You may have to call a Honda dealership to get the answer.

 

The Supplemental Restraint System Indicator does the check when the power mode is set to ON.
