Default Airbag and seatbelt light?

First thing I want to point out, is that I always wear my seatbelt. Faulty wiring in the driver side seatbelt buckle is causing the airbag and seatbelt lights on the dash to stay on. There are three wires going to the buckle. Which wires would I have to ground, or short, or both, to make the lights go out? I don't want to spend $45 (at least) for the buckle, and have to remove the driver's seat, just to change the buckle, when it holds the belt just fine. A new buckle would probably end up with the same problem sooner or later anyway. Thanks for any help you can give. (03 EX V6 with 8way power seat).

that is one of the Honda bugs. when i worked at Honda i saw plenty of these things being replaced. if those lights are on then it means the air bag won't go off if you end up in an accident. i don't think there is a way around replacing it. if one of the other guys have any tips then fine but it will still mean that the air bag most likely won't go off if you are in an accident.

Check with the Honda dealer, if it turns out to be the seat belt buckle, they probably will replace under the Honda's lifetime seat belt warranty.

I was hoping to avoid all that (trip to the dealership, and hassle that goes with it). The buckle works just fine, I just want to bypass the switch. Then the problem would be fixed for life, and nothing has to be changed. Nothing is ever simple with this dealership. If I can't figure out how to bypass the switch, I'll probably just change the buckle myself.

yes well if you just bypass the switch just to make a light go out and get in an accident the air bag won't go off. the computer needs that input to trigger the air bag. I know nothing is simple with the dealer. i worked at a Honda dealership and i know how things go there but that is, I'm sorry to say, my only suggestion.

If I can bypass the switch, the lights will go out, and the airbags will deploy in an accident. That's what I want to do. No way to do this?

i don't know anything about bypassing a switch just to make a light go out so i will drop out of this convo. if anyone else has a suggestion fine by me. i usually solve my problems just by replacing the stupid part.
