Thumbs down Aircon problems

hi everyone, I have just joined the forum, I have a problem with the aircon on my accord 2.0 mk7. I thought it was just in need of a refill so I tock the car to quickfit, they did their staff and when I asked whether everything was ok and if they'd tested it they confirmed it was all OK! Well it is not. the compressor doesn't kick in and the vents on the radiator don't work either. Fuses are ok, so is the pressure sensor. I also checked the relays, if I bypass one relay the compressor kicks-in, when I bypass the other relay one of the radiator fans kicks-in (not both). I would really appreciate if someone could help me or let me have some diagrams. Many thanks in advance

Welcome to HAF

More information about your car please.

Most of us are in the USA, and 7th-generation Accords don't come with 2.0 liter here. So that means you're somewhere else in the world? In some countries the Accord is a completely different car compared to the USA Accord.

I hate to say this because I don't want to discourage people from outside the USA, but sometimes it's important to know what country we are talking about.

Here in the U.S. your car is called a Gen-1 Acura TSX.

possibly the electronics are the same. I've run the test with the radio and I have the "A" segment lighting up
= an open in the In-car sensor circuit
Could someone possibly guide me to which sensor that is and where I may find it? I guess it must be inside the car and not by the engine.

You may well have better luck on an Acura forum with a population of TSX members; I am quite certain the Gen 7 Accord here in the U.S. is quite different from your car.

At least one of our "regulars" has a TSX, I've been trying to remember who it is.
AHA, it's PAHonda I just saw your other post over in the DIY section!

Check Honda-Tech, they have Acura forums. I used to be over there with my Integra, then sorta migrated here for some reason...

The electronics are similar between the Accord and TSX. The temperature sensor inside the car is between the steering wheel and stereo. The plastic trim piece has some holes that look like a speaker, but it is for the air temperature sensor behind the trim piece.

You can remove the sensor and test for resistance vs temperature. The resistance should be around 2,000 ohms (2 kohm) at room temperature 25 deg Celsius. At 40 Celsius, the resistance should be around 1,000 ohms.
